Introduction

Copper slag is produced as a by-product of copper smelting. After processing of the product, it is used in the ship repairing industry as blast cleaning abrasive for surface preparation purpose to remove scale, rust and corroded materials from ship hull, storage tanks, etc. before the painting contractors could proceed with their repainting jobs. Its shape, hard cutting edges provide a fast cleaning action and excellent surface profile preparation.

As world trends move towards eco-friendly environment, we take pride in taking responsibility for our environment. When the method US EPA 1311-Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure is used, the test result shows that the extracted toxic metals of our processed copper slag satisfy the regulatory limit stated in U.S. Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) (Chapter 1, Part 261 “Identification and Listing of Hazardous Waste”)

Available Sizes & Guidelines on Surface Profile

The types of copper slag produced by the Company include a variety of sizes ranging from #830 – #3060 as follows:-

2.36-0.60mm

Suitable for removal of thick rust and coating leaving a surface profile of approximately 120 microns.

  1. #1030
2.00-0.60mm

Ideal size for the removal of surface irregularities to improve surface finish, to remove mill scale and medium rust surfaces providing surface profile of up to 100 microns.

  1. #3060
0.60-0.25mm

The prefect size for cleaning of component and surface preparation prior to painting. Suitable for the removal of mill scale and light rust creating a fine surface profile of approximately 40 microns.

  1. Processed A Slag
2.36-0.50mm

Recycled copper slag that is used as a blast-cleaning abrasive to produce a surface profile of approximately 100 microns.

Packaging

Our standard packaging for the product are :-

• In 2-tonne bulk bag
